Mobile apps eCPM performance Q3 2026 vs Q2 2026

How did eCPM trends change from the second quarter to the third quarter of 2026? To find out, we analyzed billions of impressions across the Bidlogic network. The figures below show quarter-over-quarter percentage changes for Android and iOS across five key markets: the US, UK, Germany, India, and Japan, broken down by Interstitial, Banner, and Rewarded Video formats.

As we close the third quarter of 2026, the mobile ad ecosystem remains diverse. While the Bidlogic network shows signs of stabilization, deeper analysis reveals additional nuances. iOS inventory grew strongly in double digits across multiple formats and regions, driven by increased advertiser spending. In contrast, Android experienced downward pressure, especially in traditional Banner ads.

Looking closely at iOS performance, Q3 delivered a predominantly positive trajectory, characterized by substantial gains in the Banner format. Banners saw massive quarter-over-quarter spikes, led by a staggering 49.87% surge in Japan and a 27.70% climb in India, alongside strong growth in the UK of 12.63% and the USA of +6.48%. Interstitials also performed exceptionally well, driven by strong demand in Japan of 21.56% and the USA of 15.44%. Rewarded Video maintained steady incremental growth, peaking in India at 7.68% and the USA at 4.21%. However, the iOS ecosystem was not entirely immune to regional market corrections; Germany contracted in both Interstitials (-8.73%) and Rewarded Video (-3.80%).

In Q3, Android eCPMs showed a clear trend: advertisers are moving budgets away from standard Banners and toward highly engaging video formats. The biggest takeaway is that Android Banner eCPMs dropped globally, with India down 22.06% and the USA down 10.75%. However, high-impact formats balanced this out in key regions. India saw a huge 21.42% jump in Rewarded Video, while Japan’s Interstitials grew by 16.74%. Meanwhile, top-tier markets faced some challenges: Germany saw a 12.69% drop in Interstitials, and the USA saw minor declines in both Rewarded Video (-2.73%) and Interstitials (-1.38%).

Smart A/B testing

Macro Q3 data gives you a snapshot of industry averages, but your goal as a publisher should be to outperform them. To push your yield beyond standard market benchmarks, a rigorous A/B testing culture is essential. Experimenting with adjusting frequency caps on Android Interstitials or introducing new Banner placements on iOS, and monitoring how your specific user base reacts, are mandatory steps for granular optimization. True revenue optimization doesn’t come from blindly following the market, but from continuously testing these insights against your live inventory.
